| Golfer Review from GolfLink.com Mallard Cove - Lake Charles, LA Monday, December 28, 2009 Good, fast Tifeagle greens. Great practice facilities, the grass all over the course is good. Some good hole designs, some not so good, but it can't get any better for a public course. Handicap: 11.4 | Average: 89 | Rating: Thursday, April 23, 2009 GPS in carts was GREAT!!! Can't wait until new clubhouse is finished. Excellent value! Handicap: 23.3 | Average: 89 | Rating: Tuesday, March 10, 2009 Nice course for a round with friends. Not as uptight as other courses, more relaxing. Not a lot of marshalls rushing you through a fun round with friends. Handicap: -- | Average: 89 | Rating: Tuesday, May 06, 2008 nice course best value in lake charles that i've seen so far. Handicap: -- | Average: 89 | Rating: Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Extremely fair course. One of the best public venues in Louisiana without a doubt. Greens do get very nice just before the Lake Charles City Championship in summer. Clubhouse was damaged during Hurricane Rita and has yet to be reopened. Handicap: -- | Average: 89 | Rating: Tuesday, October 02, 2007 What can i say its my home course. Great layout, front 9 = wide open, back 9 = tight. fun course. Handicap: 7.6 | Average: 89 | Rating: Friday, June 22, 2007 Mallard Cove - Lake Charles, LA Greens in the summertime are the finest you will find along the Gulf Coast. Tif Eagle grass putts very smooth and they can be cut to play fast, but will still hold iron shots very well. Fairways are always in excellent condition with an intermediate cut of rough. Greenside rough is thick buy playable in most cases. At $25 with a cart, this is one of the best values you will find. Handicap: -- | Average: 89 | Rating: |
