Donald Fondel proudly serves as the City Councilman for District B in Lake Charles. A devoted civic and faith leader, he is deeply committed to building a stronger, more inclusive community through responsive leadership, thoughtful engagement, and strategic long-term planning.

Councilman Fondel is a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana, with deep and enduring ties to the community. A proud alumnus of Washington High School and SOWELA Technical Institute, he holds a certification in Electronics Communications. He is a U.S. Army National Guard veteran, having honorably served for six years. Following his military service, he enjoyed a distinguished 29-year career at Phillips 66, retiring as a Top Operator.

Currently, Councilman Fondel serves as an Outreach Coordinator with the Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center, where he continues his dedication to promoting community health and expanding access to care. He and his wife of 37 years, Brenda Mayes Fondel, are the proud parents of two adult sons and doting grandparents to two grandchildren.

Grounded in his faith and service, he serves as a Deacon at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Health Chair for the Lake Charles NAACP, a member of the Democratic Parish Executive Committee (DPEC), and an active member of Kiwanis North.

Councilman Fondel is focused on key priorities that strengthen the community. These include advocating for the revitalization of Broad Street, from Martin Luther King Highway to Nellie Lutcher Parkway (Enterprise Boulevard), championing programs and services that support senior citizens, and promoting the creation of safe, engaging spaces for children during after-school hours.
