Lake Charles District E Councilman Stuart Weatherford was born in May 1964 and raised in District E. He was elected to his first term in April 2005 and took office on July 1st. He is married to the former Sharon Crawford and lives on West Sale Road with one son Daniel. He is a CPA and has a bachelor degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He is employed by Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He is a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and is its Treasurer and serves on the church and school foundation boards. He serves on the Advisory Council of the LSU Tiger Athletic Foundation and is a member of the LSU Alumni Association, McNeese Cowboy Club and the Greater Lake Charles Rotary Club.

Councilman Weatherford will utilize business principles to help the City provide needed services and infrastructure improvements in a more effective and efficient manner. Weatherford's philosophy of government is that it should provide the needed infrastructure and services that create the environment to foster economic and job growth, and to enhance our quality of life. Weatherford's goal is to help provide an atmosphere that encourages teamwork between local (municipal, parish & state) elected officials, business and community leaders to maximize our region's potential so that our children will have the opportunity to remain here and raise their families.
