"Impact Lake Charles" is an AmeriCorps program sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service and the City of Lake Charles. Impact Lake Charles participants provide tutoring, homework assistance, and a variety of service projects within their communities.

Do you desire an opportunity to give back to your community? Are you interested in growing as an individual while gaining skills to further your career? If so, Impact Lake Charles/AmeriCorps is the service organization for you.

If selected as an "Impact Lake Charles" member you will complete 450(quarter-time) or 900(half-time) hours of service tutoring and mentoring children in the local community. A typical day of service runs from 3:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. every weekday and one Saturday each month.

"Impact Lake Charles" members earn a living allowance of $2,500 while serving 450 hours of community service or $5000 while serving 900 hours of community service. At the completion of their contract, members may qualify for an educational award of $1250.00 or $2362.50 respectively.
