*On October 21, 2009, Ordinance 15202 was passed by Lake Charles City Council ammending the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the America's Wetland Discovery Center and the National Hurricane Museum & Science Center and approving the merger of these organizations.  For more details on the National Hurricane Museum & Science Center, please visit their website at www.nhmsc.com.                     
Location                            Sited on the lakefront north of the Civic Center.  Planned to be woven into the lake edge and the lake itself in order to utilize both fresh and brackish water conditions.

This project will consist of a facility promoting the wetlands through education and recreation, and will include improvements of area parking, walkways, lighting, etc.
