On Tuesday, November 23, at the Lake Charles City Council Agenda Meeting, a presentation was made by FEMA representatives regarding the new City of Lake Charles Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMS).  The DFIRMS were placed on the Agenda for Introduction on December 1 and Final Action at the City Council meeting of December 15. 

DFIRMS are replacing the current effective flood maps which are outdated and which were produced using earlier technology.  The new maps can help residents make informed decisions about protecting their property from future flood losses.
