AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

City of Lake Charles Youth Sports

 

The City of Lake Charles only collects at $10.00 fee per player that is the entire financial obligation to the City.

 

The City of Lake Charles does provide:

  1. Insurance for all participants
  2. Place to play for required or city scheduled games
  3. Schedule of  required or city scheduled games (teams may chose to play additional games)
  4. Game administrative cost of all  required or city scheduled games
  5. Officials costs of all required games
  6. Necessary field equipment during required or city scheduled games

 

 

The City of Lake Charles does not provide:

1.      Uniforms

a.       Jerseys

b.      Helmets

c.       Shoulder Pads

d.      Mouth Pieces

e.       Any personal equipment a player must have

2.      Snacks

3.      Transportation to games or practices

 

Teams are responsible for;

1.      Providing a safe environment  for the players

2.      Making sure all coaches meet the requirements for coaching youth football

3.      Securing and Submitting all required paperwork and fees

4.      Scheduling and securing location of practices

5.      Making sure water is available at all practices

6.      All players are properly equipped

7.      Maintaining legal rosters

 

Parents are responsible for;

1.      Providing the team will proper paperwork and fees

2.      Follow team rules and guidelines

3.      Providing your child with the proper equipment

4.      Make sure your child attends practices and games

5.      Make sure child arrives on time at practices and games

6.      Make sure your child will be picked-up timely after practices and games. Coaches should not have to wait for you to get there-you should be there after practices

7.      Allow the coaches to coach your child-he is giving his time to your child

8.      Realizing that your child is not the only child that is on the team

9.      Keeping away from the sidelines during the game.  Parents must never be in the playing area and must remain behind and not within or even with the coaches area. 

10.  Any one who is not a listed coach and gets within that 10 yard area will be subject to removal from the premises that contains the playing area   .

11.  As adults,  parents must only act in supportive behavior and never in a combative behavior

12.  A parent not exhibiting the highest standard of adult behavior may be removed or banned from attending youth games.

 

           

Any costs involved in regards to meeting the team needs and responsibilities are a shared responsibility between parent and coaches.  The volunteer coaches are not required or expected to solely bear the financial burden of operating the team.

 

Individual teams may have different methods to meet this need such as sponsors, fund raisers, team fees, volunteer schedule or asking parents to bring a snack etc.

 

Each team is unique and utilizes different methods to meet the team's financial needs
