State Requirements for Youth Coaches

Louisiana Law requires all coaches of youth sports to be certified as a coach in youth sports by an accredited training program.

Effective August, 2011, Louisiana also requires all youth coaches to complete a concussion and brain trauma certification course.

LCRD youth coaches are required to complete both of the certification courses

This requirement applies to the head coach and all assistant coaches as well.

Only those coaches, who have completed both programs, will be allowed on the sidelines in football or the bench in basketball.

We will issue tags to coaches who qualify to by completing the courses.

Both courses are online and can be taken on you home/office computers

Coaches must print their certificates after completing online course and submit them to the LCRD
