Take part in spring cleaning Lake Charles by hosting a volunteer litter pickup event during March.

The City of Lake Charles is partnering with Stine Home + Yard to coordinate a series of litter pickups and is inviting all civic and church groups, neighborhood associations, school organizations, businesses, and families to commit to picking up litter on any day in March 2023.

Launched in 2021 as a community engagement effort to help clean up the City following the devastating impacts of Hurricanes Laura and Delta, residents answered the call to gather and help clean up litter and debris across the City.

“Let’s give Lake Charles a good spring cleaning and band together to make a big impact,” stated Mayor Nic Hunter. “We’re challenging groups to play an active role in cleaning, greening and beautifying our parks, shorelines, and streets. Through our Adopt-A-Spot program, nearly 50 sites have already been claimed, but we need the help of more groups to clean-up the entire city.”

For 2023, the City of Lake Charles is teaming up with Stine to ask community groups to once again take part in beautifying the City, one roadway, one neighborhood at a time.

“Stine is honored to partner with the City of Lake Charles for this spring cleaning event,” said Jeremy Stine, Stine Marketing Manager. “We are happy to pitch in and provide supplies to volunteers working together to beautify our great City!”

Groups are encouraged to share the story of their clean-up efforts on social media using the hashtag #SpringCleanLC. Trash bags, buckets, gloves, and safety vests will be provided while supplies last.

Please register your group with the City of Lake Charles. For more information or to register your group, please call (337) 491-1280 or email parks@cityoflc.us and specify your desired pickup date and location.
