The City of Lake Charles Water Division has received an “A” rating with a score of 108 out of 100 in the Louisiana Department of Health’s (LDH) 2025 Community Public Water System Report Card.
The annual grading system evaluates public water systems across the state using a comprehensive set of performance standards, including federal and state water quality compliance, infrastructure, operations and maintenance, financial sustainability and customer satisfaction.
The City’s strong performance reflects ongoing investments in infrastructure, system reliability and water quality monitoring, ensuring residents continue to receive safe, high-quality drinking water.
According to LDH data, the City of Lake Charles Water Division ranked among the top-performing systems in Calcasieu Parish, earning one of the highest scores in the region.
“This rating is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our Water Division team,” said Lake Charles Mayor Marshall Simien. “Every day, they are committed to delivering safe, reliable drinking water to our residents while maintaining and improving the infrastructure that supports our growing community.”
LDH assigns grades based on seven key categories designed to assess both immediate public health impacts and long-term system sustainability.
The City remains committed to continuous improvement, proactive maintenance and strategic investment to ensure Lake Charles’ water system continues to meet and exceed state and federal standards.
