City to Host 2013 Business Summit and Showcase


The City of Lake Charles will host the 2013 Business Summit and Showcase - Shaping our Economic Future II on Thursday, November 7, from 5p.m. - 8 p. m., in the Jean Lafitte Room, 3rd floor, Lake Charles Civic Center, 900 Lakeshore Drive.


According to Eligha Guillory, Jr., Assistant City Administrator and DBE Liaison Officer: "This will be an innovative one-stop shop for small and emerging contractors to improve their businesses in the area of the 4C's of business - credit, capital, capacity, and credibility.  These four major areas of focus are highly considered by project owners, banks, insurance, and surety companies.


"The Showcase will feature booths and opportunities for one-on-one discussions with industry representatives, banks, and purchasing agents, among many others. Session workshops include presentations from state and local procurement agents, business leaders, and project owners, discussing items pertaining to procedures and processes of doing business and doing business better in this economy of anticipated growth."
