School children, ages K-12, are invited to help decorate the walls of the Mayor’s Office in a contest announced by Mayor Nic Hunter.

The theme of the contest is “Celebrating Diversity.” Finished size of the artwork should be 16 x 20 and any of the following media or techniques may be used:

  • Paint (watercolor, tempera, poster, acrylic, etc.)
  • Drawing materials (pencil, charcoal, colored chalk, pastels, oil pastels, colored pencils, markers, etc.)

A selection committee will select the top 10 submissions based off interpretation of the theme, technical skill and originality. All artwork must be original ideas and created entirely by the student.

Parents should submit a photograph of their child’s artwork by July 31 by clicking the link below and completed the form. Winners will be notified on Friday, August 4, and a special reception will be held on Saturday, August 12, from noon-1 p.m. at 1911 Historic City Hall (1001 Ryan Street.)
