City to Hold Two Fun-filled Halloween Events
The City of Lake Charles will offer two events for the public on Halloween, October 31.
At Tuten Park, 3801 Nelson Rd., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., will be the 1st Annual Friends of Tuten Park Rootin "Tuten" Halloween. While showing off their costumes, attendees will enjoy a fun-filled learning experience with craft making and bug viewing. Popcorn and candy will be offered. Additional parking will be available at the south side of Prien Lake Elementary School, which is adjacent to the park.
At the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum, 900 Lakeshore Dr., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., will be Halloween Harvest Fest 2012. Attendees will have an opportunity to tour "Halloween Hall," play a variety of games, such as fun jumps, trike/scooter races, visit the face painters and walk the stage to show off their costumes. Concessions will be on- site.
Free admission and costumes are not required at either event.
The City of Lake Charles recommends that Halloween trick-or-treat activities end at 8 p.m. Parents are encouraged to have their children home by 8:30 p.m. unless they are attending a supervised function that is sponsored by other parents or civic organizations.
