Crime Reports and Maps

Lake Charles Police Department Partners with CrimeReports.com

The Lake Charles Police Department has partnered with Crimereports.com to create maps and reports available to the public an no charge. The following information will help to understand what you will see on these reports and maps.
When you follow the link below, you will be taken to the CrimeReports.com website with a map of Lake Charles already visible. Once there, if you go to the bottom of their page, you can navigate around their website to get more detailed information about CrimeReports.com or you can begin exploring the crime data on the map.
Please be advised that the information contained on the map is only from crimes reported to the Lake Charles Police Department, not other agencies.
The data on the map comes from our Records Management System called CRIMES. This includes only crimes where a report was made, not every dispatched call. The data is updated twice a day, 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. You may click on the numbers at the top of the page to show the last three, seven or 14 days. You may also click on the calendar to go back through the last six months. You can also narrow your results even further by clicking on the Crime Types button to select specific crimes.
Information about each crime is strictly confidential, therefore when you see the information on a crime, you will see the address is converted to "block level." For example, the address 830 Enterprise Blvd. would be mapped and displayed as 800 block of Enterprise Blvd. You will also see the date and time of the report as well as the case number.
Please DO NOT call asking for detailed information about these crimes unless you can provide information to help us solve the crime.
You may also sign up for free email alerts about crime in your neighborhood. This involves clicking on "Get Crime Alerts" at the top of the page and filling out the form that follows. This will let you set a specific radius around your address that you want to be notified about. When the data is updated on our side, you get an e-mail telling you what crimes happened in your area. You can then click on a link in the e-mail and see the map.
If you have any questions that can not be answered on the website, please e-mail us with the link to the left of this page.
