Event Description:

CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital Celebrating 100 Years

March 17 marks the 100th anniversary of CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital.  This local health care facility; founded by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, Dr. John Greene Martin and Monsignor Hubert Cramers; started out as a small 50-bed hospital with three floors and a basement.  Over the past 100 years, CHRISTUS St. Patrick Hospital has grown into a major regional medical center with a staff of over 1,500 full and part time associates, nearly 100 volunteers and 250 physicians.   A special historic exhibit commemorating a century of health care in Southwest Louisiana will be on display March 14 through April 25.  Photographs and stories, some dating back as far as 1907, will fill the Second Floor Gallery of the Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center
