Non-resident contractors and sub-contractors who operate in Louisiana and who enter into contracts in which the total contract price is three thousand ($3,000) or more, must register each such contract with the Department of Revenue & Taxation.  This is "State Law."  Application for the building permit should be made by the owner or a contractor licensed by this City or the State of Louisiana.  Contact the Department of Revenue & Taxation at 225.219.7656 for more information.
