Teen Connection Returns for Spring Semester with Two January Sessions
Teen Connection returns for the spring 2019 semester with sessions on Thursday, January 10, and Thursday, January 17, from 5 – 6 p.m.
On Thursday, January 10, Teen Connection will tackle Sports Scholarships and what collegiate athlete hopefuls can do to improve their chances of being recruited. This session will be held at the Cpl Donald Ray Stevens Center, formerly Goosport Recreation, located at 1619 Cessford St.
On Thursday, January 17, Teen Connection will take a closer look at careers in real estate and provide information on how to Become a Teenage Real Estate Mogul. For this session, the City of Lake Charles is teaming up with Ward 3 Recreation and the event will be held at the Huber Park Community Center located at 2401 4th Ave.
In October 2017, the City of Lake Charles began hosting Teen Connection for teenagers, 13 to 18 years old, in Calcasieu Parish. All sessions are offered free of charge.
Teen Connection is designed to help teenagers learn job skills, college prep, social media, interview skills, and ACT prep among others. The classes are instructed by educators, government officials, and business leaders in the community.
