Volunteers Invited to Participate in Spring Clean LC in March
Much wreckage left behind by Hurricanes Laura and Delta has been picked up from ditches and roadways, but unsightly trash still litters the city. Take pride in Lake Charles by hosting a volunteer litter pickup event during in March.
The City of Lake Charles is coordinating a series of litter pickups and is inviting all civic and church groups, neighborhood associations, school organizations, businesses, and families to commit to picking up litter on any day in March 2021.
“Let’s give Lake Charles a good spring cleaning and band together to make a big impact,” stated Mayor Nic Hunter. “We’re challenging groups to play an active role in cleaning, greening and beautifying our parks, shorelines, and streets. Through our Adopt-A-Spot program, nearly 50 sites have already been claimed, but we need the help of more than 100 additional groups to clean-up the entire city.”
Groups are encouraged to share the story of their clean-up efforts on social media using the hashtag #SpringCleanLC. Trash bags, gloves, and safety vests will be provided while supplies last.
