Per Louisiana Department of Health regulations, City of Lake Charles Water Division customers remain under a precautionary boil water advisory due to the low pressure experienced by the system. City Water Division Personnel are working closely with Department of Health Officials to complete the required sampling process.

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it, including making ice, brushing teeth, using it for food preparation or rinsing foods by boiling the water for one full minute in a clean container. The recommended one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. The advisory does not affect showering or bathing.

As soon as the City of Lake Charles receives clearance from the Louisiana Department of Health, the precautionary boil advisory will be lifted. Please stay tuned to local media, and for updates on the lifting of the advisory.
