Soil Seminar for Gardeners

TO BE HELD AT TUTEN PARK

Space limited to 25 participants

Lake Charles — On Thursday, September 10th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, the Friends of Tuten Park will sponsor a seminar featuring soil amendments appropriate for Southwest Louisiana. The seminar will be presented by Master Gardener Pam Langley. Several other master gardeners will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about gardening. For reservations, please contact Irvin Louque at 491-8770 or irvin.louque@cityoflc.us

September is an important month to start fall gardens in South Louisiana, and healthy garden soil is essential to growing healthy, productive plants. Short-sighted practices like over-tilling, over-fertilizing, and not mulching can cause long-lasting damage to this important resource.

Come to this soil seminar to learn how to improve the soil for this year’s garden and for years down the road.
