Team Assignments in Youth Sports

 

The LCRD cannot guarantee placement of all players who register to play. 

 

The LCRD cannot guarantee placement of a child on a particular team or a team in a particular area.

 

The LCRD does not hire coaches. They are citizens who volunteer to coach kids.

 

The LCRD will not give out coaches contact information. This is their personal, confidential information and will be given only to placed players if applicable.

 

Parents cannot request teams. The LCRD will do their best to place all as close as availability will allow

 

We are limited to the number of teams of which coaches volunteer to coach. The LCRD cannot force anyone to volunteer to coach a team.

 

Because they are volunteers, we can only have the teams where the volunteer coaches are located. We cannot make a volunteer coach be in an area that he does not want to be, as a volunteer he is person who is already giving of himself.

 

The volunteer coach chooses how many players he feels he can reasonably and effectively handle. We cannot force a volunteer coach to be responsible for more players than he/she feel they can handle.

 

All citizens have the right and ability to choose to become a volunteer coach. If you choose to become a volunteer coach, the LCRD will also let you coach what you feel you can handle and no more.

 

In a perfect world, the right number of teams would be in the area where the right number of kids registered. However, most often this does not happen. Most of the time, in at least one area, there will be more registered kids than there are available teams. If no one steps up to volunteer then those will have to be placed in the next available area.

 

Players and team registrations go on at the same time. Once registration ends and we know the final numbers of available teams and players we finalize placement at the coaches meeting.

 

If during the registration period we have a coach that asks for players we look at players from his area to place and then next look at players who registered first and reside within a reasonable distance.  

 

The LCRD welcomes those persons who volunteer to coach our kids, enabling all kids an opportunity to play.
