City Council to Hold Public Meeting on
July 18 Regarding Millage Rates
On Wednesday, July 18, at 5:30 p.m., a public hearing of the City Council of the City of Lake Charles will be held at the Central School Arts and Humanities Center, 809 Kirby St. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year's maximum. The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next tax year from the increased millage is $8,056,164; and the amount of increase in taxes attributable to the millage increase is $372,630.
