Temporary City Bus Transit Transfer Point to Begin

Service Monday at Amtrak Station Site on N. Ryan St.

Beginning Monday, May 19, the City of Lake Charles Transit Division will begin using the Amtrak station site located at 100 N. Ryan St as a temporary bus transit transfer point.

The hours of operation for the terminal will be from 5:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Two City Transit Division attendants will alternate overseeing customer service during daily operations of the terminal between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The N. Ryan St. location will replace the current Bilbo St. location as the transfer point.  Customers who need to use the Bilbo St. stop will be able to board a bus at that location.  All routes will start at the Amtrak site and will follow their regular fixed routes.

The new transfer point will provide customers at the terminal with rest rooms, a covered outdoor waiting area and indoor waiting room.

The City is seeking a new, permanent bus terminal location.
