City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department Awarded
The City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department was awarded at the 2016 Louisiana Recreation and Parks state conference for providing excellent recreational services in the city based on population. The conference was held April 25-28, 2016 at L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles.
Mayor Randy Roach thanked the department for its tireless service during the May 10 City Council agenda meeting. “Director Percy Brown, Asst. Director Helen Lewis and their entire team do a tremendous job taking care of our city parks, community centers, beaches and the boardwalk. I’m happy that their commitment to developing well-rounded, quality programs for our community is being recognized. The department’s summer programs are highly-anticipated events for children every year.”
Amanda Johnson, Area Supervisor for the City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department, also received the Outstanding Young Professional Award for leadership, dedication and professionalism.
