Impact Lake Charles AmeriCorps Recruiting Volunteers
Impact Lake Charles AmeriCorps is currently recruiting volunteers for spring term of service, which will begin on December 12.
Members are expected to complete a minimum of 300 hours between December and May (an average of 18-20 hours per week) and, upon completion, will receive a scholarship of $1,222 that can be contributed toward college or the payment of student loans. Members will also receive a one-time living stipend of $1,147 while serving.
AmeriCorps is a service learning program that gives its members an opportunity to make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of those they serve. Members of Impact Lake Charles AmeriCorps have an opportunity to assist with meeting the critical needs of our community by educating individuals on various health and safety topics and providing much needed assistance with community service projects. Members will also receive life skills trainings that will include team building, conflict resolution, first aid and CPR, diversity training and resume building.
