Moisture in the air and on roadways, paired with falling temperatures, could lead to icy conditions on city streets and bridges tonight, Friday, January, 6, and into the early morning hours of Saturday, January 7. Accordingly, motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling on city streets and bridges.

City of Lake Charles Public Works crews will be monitoring conditions and should it become necessary, will shut down unsafe streets and/or overpasses. Two areas prone to icing are the Shattuck Street and Enterprise Boulevard overpasses. Alternate routes will need to be used in the event of a closure.
