Due to weather conditions, the Lake Charles City Council regular meeting scheduled for today at 5:30 p.m. is being rescheduled. A special meeting is planned for tomorrow, Thursday, May 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Lake Charles City Council Chambers, 326 Pujo St. 

All public safety employees and public works crews are working to monitor street conditions and if necessary are shutting down unsafe streets. A large amount of rainfall in an extremely short amount of time has caused significant street flooding.

Residents are advised that additional rainfall tonight will compound flooding in low-lying areas throughout the City. Please only leave your homes if necessary. If you must drive on the streets, please drive slowly to avoid creating wakes that can add to residential flooding.
