Coinciding with National Mental Health Month, the City of Lake Charles Leadership Team on Community Diversity and Inclusion Committee will host a “Brown Bag Lecture Series” at Carnegie Memorial Library on Wed., May 24 at 11:30 a.m. The coordinators for this event are Sylvia Stelly, President, Marjorie Harrison and Dr. Michael Snowden.

Beginning at noon, Lolita Ceasar, executive director of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Southwest Louisiana, will provide an overview of the region’s current services and initiatives. Laurie Hebert, Community Service Director at IMCAL will be the next guest speaker and she will provide an overview of mental health services in the community.

The free lecture will take place at Carnegie Memorial Library, located at 411 Pujo Street in downtown Lake Charles. All prospective participants are asked to register by contacting Dena Jourdan at dena.jourdan@cityoflc.us or 491-1465.
