City of Lake Charles Mayors Armed Forces Commission to Host 2017 Veterans Day Ceremony
On Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m., the City of Lake Charles Mayor’s Armed Forces Commission will host the City’s annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Lake Charles Civic Center Mezzanine.
The guest speaker for this year’s ceremony will be Major General Ronald G. Richard, who is a retired United States Marine Corps officer who last served as the Commanding General of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
The U.S. Coast Guard Command Safety Unit Lake Charles will post colors, and a 21 gun salute will be fired by the Marine Corps League, Detachment 535.

Maranda Whittington, KPLC reporter, will be the Master of Ceremonies, and this year’s event will pay special recognition to all Southwest Louisiana veterans.
Immediately following the ceremony, the public is invited to a free family luncheon.
