City of Lake Charles and SWLA Economic Development Alliance Present Opportunity Zone Panel
The City of Lake Charles and the SWLA Economic Development Alliance are teaming up to present an Opportunity Zone Panel on Monday, March 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Seed Center (4310 Ryan St.).
There is no charge to attend the panel, but pre-registration is required. A light lunch will be served.
An Opportunity Zone is defined as an economically distressed community where new investments, under certain conditions, may be eligible for preferential tax treatment.
“The City has become more aggressive than ever before in attracting developers to under-developed, under-served areas in the northern portion of the City,” said Mayor Nic Hunter. “Opportunity Zones are an extremely lucrative tool. This workshop is a great opportunity for developers and investors to learn more about how they can leverage Opportunity Zones and other economic incentives to help grow our community.”
