The City of Lake Charles Water Division is issuing a precautionary boil water advisory for an area along Admiral King between Hwy 14 and Gen. Twinning, following a break on a 6-inch water main line. Water pressure in the area dipped below the required level, and these businesses have been notified by City personnel.

The boil water advisory will likely continue through tomorrow morning, the City of Lake Charles will rescind the boil water advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health that the additional water samples collected from its water supply system have shown the water to be safe.

It is recommended that all consumers disinfect their water before consuming it, including making ice, brushing teeth, using it for food preparation or rinsing foods by boiling the water for one full minute in a clean container. The recommended one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. This advisory does not affect showering or bathing.
