Mayor Nic Hunter and the Lake Charles City Council Sworn Into Office
Mayor Nic Hunter and the Lake Charles City Council were sworn into office during a public ceremony at 10 a.m. today, July 1, 2021.
The oath of office was administered by the Honorable Judge Guy Bradberry, Honorable Judge Derrick Kee and Attorney Hunter Ieyoub. Mayor Hunter addressed the citizens of Lake Charles as part of the ceremony.
“I am truly humbled to be here accepting this great honor for a second time,” said Mayor Hunter in his address. “We stand here today in the middle of Lake Charles’ greatest challenge in a generation, her greatest hour of need. No one needs a reminder of what the last year and a half has been like. The only way we will achieve success is by working together.”
The term of office for Mayor Hunter and the City Council is four years with the next election taking place in the year 2025.
