The City of Lake Charles and CIVICSOURCE are offering two free opportunities for the community to learn more about adjudicated property.

Community meetings, focused Educating About and Investing in Adjudicated Property, are scheduled for Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in the Oak Park Middle School Library (2200 Oak Park Blvd.) and Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Allen August Multi-Purpose Center (2000 Moeling St.). Both meetings will take place from 6-7 pm.

Representatives from the City of Lake Charles Legal Department and CIVICSOURCE will be on hand to provide insight on the adjudicated property program and explain how these properties offer affordable opportunities for redevelopment within the community.

“Through these meetings, we hope to engage the public to let them know how to best prevent properties from becoming adjudicated and also about how currently adjudicated properties can be put back into commerce,” said Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter. “Adjudicated properties often contribute to blight on our neighborhoods. Together, we can eliminate this blight and uplift our neighborhoods.”

There is no cost to attend these meetings and pre-registration is not required.
