The stage is set for performers to once again grace the stage of the Rosa Hart Theatre in a special rededication ceremony planned for Sunday, October 15.

Doors to the Theatre, located at the Lake Charles Civic Center (900 Lakeshore Dr.) will open at noon.

The celebration will get underway at 1 p.m. with opening remarks prior to Jairus Daigle & the Network taking the stage at 1:15 p.m., filling the theatre with the sounds of soulful jazz music.

At 2 p.m., Southwest Louisiana native and GRAMMY nominee Marcia Ball will bring the house down with the toe-tapping sounds of Blues that brought her to number one on the Blues Billboard Music Chart and netted her a Blues Album of the Year Award.

The Rosa Hart Theatre has been shuttered since 2020, after Hurricane Laura caused significant damage. Repairs are nearing completion and this event will provide the community with the opportunity to experience once again the magic of local arts and culture in this historic venue.

As part of the celebration, the Rosa Hart Theatre will be rededicated in honor of Rosa Hart’s numerous contributions to the local arts and culture scene. Hart was the first female cheerleader in the nation, went on to found the Lake Charles Little Theatre, and was a trailblazer in the community for numerous other artists.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available now online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door on Sunday, October 15, only. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the United Way of Southwest Louisiana’s SUCCESS by 6 Initiative.

The SUCCESS by 6 Initiative increases access to quality early learning education for the children (infant to pre-K) of ALICE families. This unique initiative focuses on working parents, struggling to keep the basic needs of their families covered each month and creates the opportunity for their child’s enrollment in a high-quality educational center, allowing them to build a firm foundation from the rest of their life.

Sponsors of this event include the City of Lake Charles, Visit Lake Charles, United Way of Southwest Louisiana, Empire of the Seed, L’Auberge and Stream Companies.
