Skatember is rolling into the City of Lake Charles with a free, outdoor skate night.

The country-western-themed event will take place on Friday, Sept. 5, from 5-8 p.m. on the Gill Street extension located adjacent to Millennium Park on the Lake Charles Event Center grounds (900 Lakeshore Dr.).

Costumes are encouraged and for this edition of Skatember, roller blades, roller skates and non-motorized scooters will be allowed. Skates will not be provided.

No weapons will be permitted and all minors aged 16 and under, must be accompanied by an adult.

Concessions will be available for purchase, and KBYS will broadcast music.
