The City of Lake Charles, the Gulf Coast Bird Club and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Nature and Science Center are teaming up to host Loon Watch on the Lakeside every Wednesday, Nov. 26 – Dec. 31.
Each week, from 7 – 9 am, the group will gather on the lakeside of Port Wonder (1011 N. Lakeshore Dr.) to try to spot loons and other species known to frequent the waters of Lake Charles. Scopes will be provided for viewing, and birding experts will be on hand to share educational information.
Tom’s Coffee Truck will be on site, with a variety of coffee and hot chocolate options available for purchase.
