On Tuesday, Nov. 25, Lake Charles Mayor Marshall Simien was joined by community leaders, elected officials, including District B Councilman Donald Fondel, Council President Craig Marks, and District D Councilman Matt Young; and representatives from Citadel to celebrate the opening of a brand-new Citadel Teen Room inside the McMillan Park Community Center, located at 343 Goos St.
The Citadel Teen Room, open Monday through Friday, from 3 – 7 pm, and 10 am – 2 pm on Saturday, aims to provide a safe, structured environment for teens to enjoy gaming consoles, a pool table and more.
The Center’s redesign, programming and more are being made possible through a partnership with Citadel. Citadel, through the City’s Partners in Parks Fund at the Community Foundation SWLA, provided a generous funding contribution and have allocated additional funds for future contributions.
