From skate nights and nature explorations, Mardi Gras celebrations, Easter egg hunts, live music and library pop-ups in the park, the City of Lake Charles is rolling out a full calendar of first-quarter Partner in Parks events designed to get residents outside, active and connected.
On Saturday, Jan. 10, lace up the skates for Glow Skate Night – Rollin’ into the New Year from 4 – 8 p.m. inside the Lake Charles Event Center Coliseum (900 Lakeshore Dr.). 
On Saturday, Jan. 17, Sasol’s Nature in Focus will host Exploring Nature of Winter from 10 a.m. – noon at Tuten Park (3801 Nelson Rd.).  
 On Saturday, Jan. 24, make sense of financial matters with a special financial literacy event from 10 a.m. – noon at College Oaks Community Center (3518 Ernest St.).
February will bring with it the return of Art in the Park with a special Art from the Heart Valentine-themed edition on Saturday, Feb. 7. Prepare to let the good times roll with Mardi Gras Mask Making on Thursday, Feb. 12, and then head out, with your mask, to the Children’s Mardi Gras Stroll on Saturday, Feb. 14. Visit Talk Healthy to Me on Saturday, Feb. 20, and then take a dance break with a special Music in the Park on Tuesday, Feb. 22.
The first quarter will close out with Sasol’s Nature in Focus: Tails and Scales on Saturday, March 7. Test your puzzle-solving skills with The Great Green Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, March 14, and then Book it to the Park on Saturday, March 21, for a pop-up library.
March wraps up with the City’s annual Egg-stravaganza. Don’t miss the Citywide Easter Egg hunt on Saturday, March 28.
