Make a Splash this Summer: Lifeguard Meeting and Tryouts Set for Goosport Pool
The City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department is recruiting motivated individuals to join its team at lifeguards at Goosport Pool for the upcoming summer season.
An informational meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Donald Ray Stevens Community Center at Goosport Park (1619 Cessford St.). Attendees will learn more about the tryouts and the potential for scholarships to be awarded upon completing the course and fulfilling summer employment requirements.
Tryouts for the lifeguard positions are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27 from 5 – 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m. – noon. Both sessions will take place at Goosport Pool (1619 Cessford St.).
This opportunity is available for youth ages 16 and older. Prospective applicants should bring swimwear, goggles and a towel to the tryouts. Girls/ladies are required to wear one0piece swimsuits. Boys must wear swim trunks, board shorts or jammer-style suits. Basketball shorts and cotton shirts are not allowed.
