Community-based Friends of Tuten Park was formed by the City in 2011 to assist in furthering the mission of the park -- that it be used as a woodland park and as a sanctuary for birds, native flowers and trees. Tuten Park was donated to the City by the Tuten family with the stipulation that the land be dedicated to the enjoyment and education of the public and, particularly, its youth.
