City of Lake Charles to Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day with Citywide Photo Scavenger Hunt
The City of Lake Charles is celebrating National Kids to Parks Day this Saturday, May 20, and is inviting the community to join in on the fun with a Citywide Photo Scavenger Hunt!
Each year, the National Park Trust celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday of May. The day is meant to inspire outdoor play, connecting kids and families with their local recreation facilities.
In celebration of this decades-old tradition, the City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department has developed a citywide photo scavenger hunt that promises free fun for the entire family.
The scavenger hunt will get underway at 10 a.m., and participating families can start at any City park on the map.
Parks included in the hunt are JD Clifton, Grace Medora, Riverside, Goosport, Henry Heights, Hillcrest, College Oak and McMillan.
The Citywide Scavenger Hunt will conclude at Millennium Park with a family-friendly celebration from 2-4 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the first three families to complete the photo scavenger hunt.
