City to Observe Mardi Gras Holiday: Garbage, Trash and Recycling Collection Altered
The City of Lake Charles will observe the Mardi Gras Holiday on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. There WILL NOT be any trash or garbage picked up on that day.
Changes in trash and garbage pickup are as follows:
Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, February 14, 2024
Monday, Thursday, and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.
All Recycling stations, including the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Incinerator will not be open on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. They will resume regular operating hours on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
As a reminder containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.
The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
City Hall and all other services of the Department of Public Works will also be closed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in observance of Mardi Gras and will resume regular working hours on Wednesday, February 14, 2023.
The Lake Charles City Council Agenda Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 13, will not take place due to the Mardi Gras Holiday.
