Update: Art in the Park Postponed 

Lake Charles — Due to the forecasted threat of inclement weather and tide conditions on the beach, this Saturday’s edition of Art in the Park is postponed. 

Originally set to take place from 9-11 am on Saturday, July 27, from 9-11 am, Art in the Park Goes to the Beach will now be held on Saturday, August 24, from 9-11 am.

The City of Lake Charles Partners in Parks Initiative and the Imperial Calcasieu Museum Residency at the Museum Program are teaming up to once again for another installment of the City’s 2024 Art in the Park Series.

 

The next monthly session will take attendees to I-10 North Beach and will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 9-11 am.

 

In addition to painting on canvas, attendees will also have the opportunity to experiment with sand art and participate in sand castle making.

  

A DJ will be on site, proving musical entertainment for fun, games and prizes. City of Lake Charles Recreation staff will have cool sno cones as well. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and umbrellas and to be prepared to soak up some fun!

 

Artists currently in residence at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum will provide art instruction. Art supplies and easels will be provided by the City of Lake Charles through its Partners in Parks Initiative.

 

Lake Charles Coca-Cola is also partnering with the City for this event, providing refreshing beverages to all artists.
