The objective of the Engineering Division is to provide technical assistance to developers, engineers, contractors and others involved in professionally overseeing the planning, design and construction of public improvements that will be safe, efficient and economical to maintain.
 
This division manages and implements projects through consultants and contractors in the Capital Budget related to paving, drainage, water and sewer improvements.
 
Engineering staff review the civil engineering plans for each new subdivision and commercial project to see that all public improvements are designed to meet current City specifications. Civil engineering plans are prepared by engineers hired by land developers and generally include paving, drainage, grading, water, sanitary sewer plans and traffic control.
