Water

The Water Division of the Public Works Department is responsible for the production, treatment and distribution of all water supplied to the citizens of Lake Charles from its six water treatment plants. We presently have approximately 580 miles of water mains, 3,350 fire hydrants and provide service to approximately 32,000 households and businesses. In addition, all service work, meter reading and maintenance of water lines and facilities is performed by this division.
As our customer, we want you to fully understand the efforts we make to assure that your water is safe to drink. We are committed to ensuring the quality of your drinking water and its compliance with all governmental standards.
Our number one priority is providing our customers with a safe, reliable and affordable supply of drinking water that can be used with confidence. We are proud to report that the water provided by the City of Lake Charles Water Division meets or exceeds established water quality standards. If you need additional information please call (337) 491-1479 and speak to Water Division Superintendent Charles Guillory.
