Public Works cares for the city’s streets, drainage, water, sewer, trash, and public buildings. Our team works every day to keep Lake Charles clean, safe, and running smoothly.
What We Do:
Public Works is the city’s largest department with more than 300 employees, responsible for the following:
· Streets & Right-of-Ways
· Drainage System
· City-owned buildings
· City vehicle fleet
· Water treatment and distribution
· Wastewater collection and treatment
· Garbage and trash collection
· Public transit
